Police have cleared actor Kim Soo-hyun of allegations including dating a minor.

Authorities concluded that a recording released by the bereaved family appeared to be fabricated and that there was a lack of objective evidence.

In May of last year, the bereaved family of the late Kim Sae-ron and Kim Se-ui, head of Garosero Research Institute, filed a complaint with the police against Kim Soo-hyun for violating the Child Welfare Act, claiming that the deceased had been in a relationship with him since she was a minor.

At the time, the bereaved family released audio files claiming they were conversations the deceased had shared with an acquaintance, asserting that she had dated Kim Soo-hyun starting from middle school until they broke up after entering college.

Kim Soo-hyun's side countered that the recording in question had been forged using AI.

Police also determined that the recording was suspected of being fabricated and that, considering the results of the forensic analysis on the deceased's mobile phone, there was insufficient objective evidence to prove the allegations, leading to the decision not to forward the case for prosecution.
