At around 4:50 a.m. today (July 30), a box truck driving near the Hwado Drowsy Driving Rest Area on the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway bound for Yangyang in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, crashed into a parked truck and a guardrail at the rest area.

The driver of the box truck sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Roads were briefly restricted to handle the accident, causing traffic congestion.

Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident based on a witness statement suggesting that the box truck driver may have been dozing off at the wheel.
