Ahead of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) founding anniversary on August 1, China has released a video featuring the operation of its latest weaponry.

The PLA News Center released a promotional video titled "Zhisheng" (Victory) on its official WeChat account yesterday (July 28) to mark the 99th anniversary of the PLA's founding.

The 3-minute and 34-second video showcases the operation of advanced equipment by the army, navy, air force, and rocket force. Notably, it includes footage of the Sichuan launching its new multi-functional decoy flare system and a long-range multiple launch rocket system firing large-caliber rockets.

Citing domestic military experts, the Global Times reported that the video demonstrates the PLA's long-range precision strike capabilities and ship defense capabilities.

Often referred to as a "drone carrier," the Sichuan is a next-generation amphibious assault ship independently developed by China, with a full load displacement of around 40,000 tons.

It is designed as the world's first amphibious assault ship to incorporate an electromagnetic catapult and arresting gear, enabling the operation of large drones, helicopters, and landing equipment.

Footage of the Type 191 long-range multiple launch rocket system firing large-caliber rockets was also unveiled.

China routinely releases promotional videos featuring its latest military hardware and training footage around the founding anniversary each year to highlight its military modernization achievements.
