Ahead of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, the esports national team has entered the Jincheon National Training Center in North Chungcheong Province for the first time.

The Korean Sport & Olympic Committee announced that it will support the training camp for the esports national team over a three-day period starting today through the 31st.

According to the committee, this marks the first time for esports athletes to enter the training center.

Esports was adopted as an official medal event at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, and the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya tournament, scheduled for September to October this year, will expand to 11 detailed events.

A 22-member delegation across six events (PUBG Mobile, Puyo Puyo Champions, eFootball, Gran Turismo 7, Pokémon Unite, and Identity V) will participate in this training session.

During their stay, the delegation will utilize the training center facilities and conduct autonomous training by event.

They are also scheduled to attend a special lecture by Jincheon National Training Center Director Kim Taek-soo, participate in the morale-boosting project "Cheer Up Stage" held as an Asian Games D-50 commemorative event, and interact with athletes from other sports.

Jincheon National Training Center Director Kim Taek-soo stated, "I sincerely welcome the esports national team on their first entry into the training center," adding, "Based on the pride of representing the country, I hope they deliver their best performance at the Asian Games."
