Former President Yoon Suk Yeol, whose seven-year prison sentence was finalized for obstructing the execution of an arrest warrant by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-Ranking Officials (CIO), has had his lawyer license revoked.

According to the legal community today, the Korean Bar Association recently canceled the former president's attorney registration.

This action follows a revocation order issued by the Ministry of Justice.

Under the Attorney-at-Law Act, if a person registered in the roster of attorneys receives a final sentence of imprisonment without prison labor or heavier, they fall under disqualification grounds, requiring the Minister of Justice to order the Korean Bar Association to cancel the registration.

On the 9th, the Supreme Court finalized the lower court ruling sentencing the former president to seven years in prison on charges including special obstruction of official duties and abuse of power.
