Former baseball player and broadcaster Hwang Jae-gyun is drawing attention with a completely transformed visual featuring long hair and a slim physique.

On the 28th, a behind-the-scenes clip of the Tving Super Match titled "Chuno Appeared on Tving" was posted on Tving's official sports account. What drew the most attention on this day was Hwang's drastically changed appearance. He appeared with his hair grown long enough to cover the nape of his neck, tied back loosely with his bangs swept back. Combined with a much thinner face than before, he gave off a vibe quite different from his active playing days.

While preparing for the shoot, Jeong Geun-woo saw Hwang with his long hair and remarked, "You look exactly like Jang Hyuk today," mentioning a character from the drama Chuno. Acknowledging this, Hwang jokingly responded, "I need to go beat someone up right now."

When asked how long he plans to grow his hair, he showed a unique attachment to his long hair, saying, "I'm keeping it growing until I can tie it up. I plan to grow it until there are no more comments telling me to cut it. As long as even a single such comment comes up, I'll keep growing it."

On this day, Hwang also shared an update that he recently finished shooting a body profile. He revealed that right after the shoot finished, he drank a sports drink and took digestive medicine, and after curiously eating a hot dog, his weight—which had been 80.2kg—increased by 3kg, prompting laughter by saying, "I'm never shooting one again."

Previously, Hwang appeared on the YouTube channel Durumari Studio in March and directly explained the reason for his weight loss. He confessed, "Shortly after I retired, I went on a variety show and looked at myself thinking, 'Why is a pig sitting there?' I didn't pay attention when I played baseball, but seeing myself right after retirement shocked me. So I've been exercising and losing a lot of weight."

Hwang entered the pros in 2006 and played as a representative infielder of the KBO League, before announcing his retirement in December of last year following the end of the 2025 season. Afterward, he signed an exclusive contract with SM C&C in February of this year, transitioned into a broadcaster, and is currently working as a baseball commentator for Tving.
