Firefighters have rescued an elderly woman in her 80s who fell into the Jungnangcheon Stream in Uijeongbu and was struggling to hold onto a rock amidst a rapid current.

According to the Uijeongbu Fire Station on July 29, a report was received at 7:27 a.m. on July 27 stating that an elderly woman had fallen into the Jungnangcheon Stream in Howon-dong, Uijeongbu.

At the time, woman A, in her 80s, was struggling to hold on while clinging to a rock in the rushing water.

Firefighters entered the water, calmed woman A, secured a life ring around her body, and brought her safely out of the water.

Fortunately, woman A is reported to have recovered without any major health issues.

Cho Chang-geun, head of the Uijeongbu Fire Station, explained, "Our firefighters calmly assessed the scene, chose the safest method, and protected a precious life."
