We have brought you news of relentless heat day after day this week.
Accordingly, you will need to take good care of your health to avoid exhaustion from the heat.
Effective at 11:00 AM today (July 29), the heatwave advisory for eastern Seoul will be upgraded to a heatwave warning, while the severe heatwave warnings previously issued remain in effect for Yangsan, Uiryeong, and Changnyeong in South Gyeongsang Province.
Today, temperatures in these regions will once again approach 40°C, bringing extreme heat, while Seoul, Daejeon, and Gwangju will reach 34°C, and Gangneung will climb to 36°C, making it extremely hot.
With tropical night advisories currently in effect for most regions, current temperatures are 29.4°C in Gangneung (85°F), 28.2°C in Daegu (83°F), and 26.2°C in Seoul (79°F), with Seoul expecting its seventh consecutive night of tropical conditions.
Skies nationwide will gradually clear starting this morning, resulting in very strong ultraviolet rays, while residents in Gyeonggi Province, western Gangwon Province, South Chungcheong Province, and South Gyeongsang Province should watch out for high ozone concentrations this afternoon.
The sweltering heat is expected to continue amid clear weather not only through this week but also into next week.
