The amendment to the Criminal Procedure Act, which abolishes the prosecution's supplementary investigation power, passed the Legislation and Judiciary Committee's 1st Subcommittee last night (July 28).

The subcommittee pushed through the amendment led by pan-ruling camp lawmakers, while members of the People Power Party walked out.

The Democratic Party plans to submit the amendment to a plenary session tomorrow after going through the full Legislation and Judiciary Committee meeting today.

If passed, the legislation will bar prosecutors from conducting supplementary investigations directly, allowing them only to request supplementary investigations from the police.
