A revision to the Criminal Procedure Act, which aims to abolish prosecutors' supplementary investigation powers, has just passed the 1st Bill Review Subcommittee of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee in the National Assembly.

The Legislation and Judiciary Committee's 1st Subcommittee processed the Criminal Procedure Act revision led by pan-ruling camp lawmakers, while members belonging to the People Power Party walked out.

People Power Party members of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee left the meeting midway, protesting that the Democratic Party was trying to unilaterally process the revision without giving enough time for review.

The Democratic Party plans to consecutively hold a full meeting of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee today (July 29) and a plenary session tomorrow to complete the processing of the Criminal Procedure Act revision.

If the People Power Party files for a filibuster at tomorrow's plenary session, the revision is expected to pass on July 31.
