Fire authorities and police have recovered batteries and other household items suspected of causing the fire during an on-site inspection of the Incheon Coupang Logistics Center, where a major fire occurred.
A joint inspection team comprising 10 institutions, including the National Forensic Service and the Korea Safety Technology Corporation, conducted a joint on-site inspection for about three and a half hours starting at 10:00 a.m. today (July 28).
The inspection team explained that they recovered household items containing batteries and metals equivalent to eight plastic packs from the second floor of the mezzanine multi-level structure on the sixth floor of the logistics center, which is suspected to be the origin of the fire.
Lee Gi-yeol, head of the Fire Investigation Division at the National Fire Agency, stated in a briefing, "The collected evidence has been sent to the National Forensic Service for detailed analysis."
