Regarding the 60-something woman murder case in Tongyeong, which has remained unsolved for over a month since it occurred, the police have released CCTV footage containing the appearance of the suspect and requested tips from citizens.

The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency released the CCTV footage showing the suspect, identified as A, yesterday with the consent of the victim's bereaved family.

The footage shows suspect A, estimated to be in their 30s to 40s with a robust build, infiltrating the victim's home before the crime at around 12:22 AM on June 10, the day of the incident.

Hiding behind stacked materials with their face covered by a hat and a mask, A checks the direction of the CCTV before entering the victim's house.

Later, at around 2:15 AM, the suspect was also captured fleeing the scene carrying a weapon and the victim's bag in their left hand, and an emergency report device in their right hand after committing the crime.

During the escape, A was even seen looking directly in the direction where the CCTV was installed.

At around 6:34 AM that morning, the victim was found dead inside her home, having suffered stab wounds.

The police have formed a dedicated team to track the suspect's whereabouts, but are facing difficulties in the investigation as the suspect's face is mostly covered and insufficient clues have been secured to trace their movements from late-night village CCTV footage.

The police previously distributed wanted posters and offered a reward of up to 100 million won for tips, but the suspect's whereabouts have yet to be confirmed.

As the case prolonged, a photo of the suspect fabricated by someone using AI spread online, compounding public confusion.

Based on the released CCTV footage, the police urged citizens to actively submit tips.
