There was a case of arson at an apartment building in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, a short while ago, right?

I understand the victims' families are struggling with the burden of medical expenses.

It happened on the 23rd, didn't it?

Due to this arson incident at an apartment management office in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, seven people, including the suspect, suffered burns and one person tragically died.

Ms. A, a woman in her 50s currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit, suffered third-degree burns across 95% of her body, leaving almost no skin left to graft except for the soles of her feet and her scalp.

At present, cultured skin cell transplantation is the only treatment option, but the problem is the cost.

With skin culturing alone costing more than 300 million won, and additional surgeries and rehabilitation treatments scheduled, the victim's family is voicing deep distress over the massive burden of medical expenses.

It is reported that Ms. A fell victim to the tragedy while she went out to perform unpaid volunteer work for the apartment residents.

Ms. A's husband expressed his sorrow, stating that while management office employees can receive industrial accident compensation, victims like his wife must shoulder their medical bills individually, and he understands that some families have already given up on treatment or are preparing for funerals.
