33-year-old veteran Shin Ji-eun has won the LPGA Tour's Scottish Open. It is her second victory achieved a full 10 years after her debut win, setting a rare record on the LPGA Tour not seen in 30 years.

Entering the final round with a five-stroke lead, Shin Ji-eun struggled with her shots amid fierce winds, and as her putts repeatedly missed the hole, she dropped three strokes on the front nine alone.

Facing a crisis as her gap with the runner-up narrowed to two strokes, she successfully turned the momentum around by grabbing her first birdie on the 10th hole, and sealed her victory by adding a crucial birdie on the 12th hole to pull ahead by four strokes.

Fending off Kim A-lim by two strokes, Shin Ji-eun savored the emotion of her second victory 10 years and 2 months after her debut win in May 2016.

A gap of more than 10 years between a first and second win is a milestone that has occurred on the LPGA Tour for the first time in 30 years.

Shin shed heavy tears as she received congratulations from her fellow players.

Following Yoo Hae-ran's consecutive major wins, South Korean women's golf recorded its sixth win of the season along with three consecutive victories in recent tournaments.
