Pitcher Go Woo-suk, who was ejected after a foreign substance was found on his glove, has been suspended for 10 games. Go immediately protested the decision and announced through the players union that he would appeal.

Major League Baseball (MLB) has suspended Go Woo-suk for 10 games after he was ejected when a foreign substance was detected on his glove during his first game following a minor league demotion on the 25th.

Go, who had protested his innocence throughout the umpires' glove inspection, expressed his stance on social media in defiance of the disciplinary action.

He stated that he has used the exact same glove in every game since the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in March, yet it had never been an issue even once.

He also explained that the substance on the glove was merely a mixture of sweat and rosin, asserting that he has never used any illegal substances to affect his pitches.

Go, who struggled in the minor leagues during his first two years in the United States, achieved a significant performance improvement this year to finally reach the dream stage of the big leagues. However, the spin rate of his pitches, which sticky substances typically affect the most, showed no difference compared to last year.

Go announced that he plans to proceed with the appeal process through the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA).

However, given that there is no precedent of a player ejected for a foreign substance successfully reducing their suspension through an appeal, Go is likely to return to the mound only on August 7.
