Director Christopher Nolan's new film 'Odyssey' is enjoying an explosive box office run in North America and overseas.

According to Box Office Mojo, as of 7:00 AM on Monday, July 27, 'Odyssey' has not only maintained the No. 1 spot at the North American box office for two consecutive weeks, but its global box office revenue has also surpassed 639.6 million dollars (approximately 935,223,120,000 won).

Along with its box office success, critical and audience reception is also fervent. Earning a 97% Rotten Tomatoes Popcornmeter and the highest grade of A on the audience evaluation index CinemaScore, the film is receiving acclaim for both artistic value and commercial appeal.

In addition, director Christopher Nolan was recently ranked No. 1 on the list of the 'Most Influential Hollywood Directors' selected by prominent American entertainment media outlet Vulture, proving his stature.

'Odyssey' depicts the journey of Odysseus (Matt Damon), the hero who led the ten-year Trojan War to victory, as he sets out to return to his waiting wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland) amid the absence of a king. The film is set to open in domestic theaters on August 5.
