Following SBS's successive reports on the illegal leasing of licenses by forestry corporations and poor management, the Board of Audit and Inspection conducted an emergency audit and announced the results today (July 27).

The Board of Audit and Inspection announced that after investigating 16,970 forestry technicians registered with 2,229 forestry corporations from 2023 to this year, approximately 40%, or 6,749 individuals, were found likely to be in a state of license leasing or theft.

The board added that among them, 184 individuals were unable to engage in normal full-time employment, as they were deceased, imprisoned, or staying overseas.
