A fishing enthusiast in his 50s has been injured after falling from a tetrapod in Jeju.

According to the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire and Safety Headquarters today (July 27), a report was received at 10:45 p.m. the previous day stating that a man in his 50s, identified as A, had fallen beneath a tetrapod at a breakwater in Dodu-dong, Jeju City.

Emergency rescue workers dispatched to the scene rescued Mr. A and transported him to a hospital.

Mr. A was reportedly found to have sustained abrasions across his entire body and complained of pain in his ribs.

The Korea Coast Guard is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
