San Diego Padres infielder Song Seong-mun of Major League Baseball (MLB) remained silent for the fifth consecutive game.

Starting as the ninth-hitter and shortstop in an away game against the Miami Marlins held at loanDepot park in Miami, Florida on the 27th (Korean time), Song went 0-4.

Struck out consecutively in the 3rd and 5th innings, Song was subsequently retired on a groundout and a catcher's foul fly.

A week ago against the Kansas City Royals, Song recorded three hits in a single game for the first time since advancing to the big leagues, but has since been mired in a five-game hitless slump.

His season batting average dropped to 0.212.

San Diego won 5-3 to extend its winning streak to three games.

San Francisco Giants' Lee Jung-hoo sat out the home game against the Los Angeles Angels due to the aftereffects of being hit on the elbow by a pitch the previous day.

San Francisco lost 3-4.
