A vehicle driving down a rain-soaked road suddenly drops straight down into the ground.

The incident occurred after heavy rainfall caused a road to collapse in Turkey's capital, Ankara.

Torrential downpours were lashing the area at the time.

As the vehicle fell into the suddenly opened, massive sinkhole, the driver and a passenger became trapped inside. Fortunately, nearby citizens immediately rushed to their rescue, helping them escape safely.

Local authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
