Golfer Jenny Shin has claimed an emotional victory at the LPGA Tour's Scottish Open, securing her second career title after a long-awaited 10-year gap.

Entering the final round comfortably with a five-stroke lead as the sole leader, Shin faced a crisis as she struggled with her shots amid the fierce Scottish winds and watched her putts repeatedly miss the hole.

After recording bogeys on three consecutive holes from the 6th to the 8th, she finished the front nine with her lead cut down to just two strokes over the runner-up, but she held her ground and steadied herself.

Shin bounced back on the 10th hole by landing her second shot within two meters of the pin to secure her first birdie of the day.

She then essentially sealed the victory on the par-4 12th hole with a flawless wedge shot that dropped right next to the pin, picking up another stroke to widen the gap and pull four shots ahead of second-place Kim A-lim.

Though Shin dropped two strokes on the remaining holes, she managed to protect her two-stroke lead and rose to the top of the podium.

Celebrating her second career title 10 years after her maiden victory in 2016, Shin shed heavy tears as she was congratulated by her fellow players. Meanwhile, South Korean women's golf continued its dominance following Yoo Hae-ran's consecutive wins, capturing three straight tournament victories and combining for six wins this season.
