[SBS Entertainment News | Reporter Kim Hyo-jung] The embezzlers emerged victorious in the race.
On the July 26 broadcast of SBS "Running Man", guests Kang Hoon, Kim Hye-jun, and Cha Woo-min appeared to join the members for the "Target: Favorite Employee" race.
In this episode, the members and guests competed in a race where collecting as many gold bars as possible meant victory. Members who acquired gold bars through missions were shocked to learn that several safes had been cracked by embezzlers.
Upon hearing that two embezzlers were hiding among them, everyone immediately began suspecting each other.
Two people had received the embezzlement mission 30 minutes before the opening. Succeeding in the hidden mission would allow them to embezzle, while failing would expose the existence of the embezzlers.
As a penalty for the embezzlers failing their mission, the interiors of two safes were revealed. This resulted in the randomly selected safes of Kang Hoon and Jee Seokjin being opened.
With Kang Hoon's safe completely empty and Jee Seokjin's safe containing 11 gold bars, the members suspected Jee Seokjin. In response, Jee Seokjin vehemently denied it and explained himself.
The production team then gave the members one last chance to catch the embezzlers. They had five minutes to search for hidden clues scattered around to identify the culprits.
The members found clues such as "One of the embezzlers has filmed a thriller," "One of the embezzlers has won a rookie award," and "One of the embezzlers has a sister."
However, while everyone was busy searching for clues, Kang Hoon was spotted hiding a clue, raising suspicions. He turned out to be one of the embezzlers.
Kang Hoon had found a clue in a room where nobody else was looking and hid it. On his way out of the room, however, he ran into Kim Jong-kook. Kim Jong-kook didn't believe Kang Hoon's claim that there were no clues and began to suspect him.
Meanwhile, Cha Woo-min found a clue stating, "The embezzlers have different occupations," leading them to believe that the other embezzler, excluding Kang Hoon, was a comedian or entertainer.
After the clue hunt ended, the members and guests shared their findings to track down the embezzlers. Many mentioned clues pointing strongly to Kang Hoon as an embezzler.
With that, attention shifted to finding out who the other embezzler was. Yu Jae-seok suspected HAHA, and HAHA suspected Yu Jae-seok.
The two then explained why they suspected each other. With the reasoning session over, only the vote for the embezzlers remained.
At this moment, Yu Jae-seok suddenly began suspecting Yang Sechan. Hearing this, Kim Jong-kook remarked, "Kang Hoon and Sechan don't really match," before adding, "Wait, are they two men abandoned by Ji Ye-eun?" which brought laughter.
Hearing this, Yang Sechan and Kang Hoon drew the line, saying, "Who got abandoned? We didn't get abandoned. We rejected her."
After the voting concluded, the final suspects for the embezzlers were Kang Hoon and Yu Jae-seok. For "Running Man" to win, they had to correctly identify both embezzlers. However, only Kang Hoon was an embezzler, while Yu Jae-seok was not.
The other embezzler was none other than Yang Sechan. Yang Sechan and Kang Hoon had succeeded in their mission through flawless cooperation, with Yang Sechan quickly finding and disposing of the clue about himself behind the members' backs.
In the race that ended with the embezzlers' victory, only Yu Jae-seok, who accurately guessed the identities of the embezzlers, won prizes alongside the embezzlers. Meanwhile, the remaining members and guests drew attention by receiving a water bomb punishment.
Note: "Ji Ye-eun" is a romanization, as no official English spelling has been released yet.
