The Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) has urged People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyeok to "immediately halt irresponsible agitation regarding election fraud and cooperate with the swift processing of a recount and a special counsel investigation."

Floor Spokesperson Kim Sung-hwei stated this in a written briefing today (July 26), saying, "Leader Jang's agitation over election fraud is crossing the line."

Spokesperson Kim pointed out remarks made by Leader Jang during his visit to Daegu the previous day, where he suggested that "voter turnout and vote shares can be manipulated at will." Kim criticized, saying, "We cannot hide our astonishment at the sight of a party leader taking the lead in spreading baseless conspiracy theories that even members of his own People Power Party are drawing a line against."

He added, "There is a clear difference between legitimate demands to thoroughly uncover the truth and Leader Jang's claims of election fraud that shake the foundations of democracy with absurd conspiracy theories." He further urged, "If you genuinely wish to protect the voting rights of the public, immediately halt irresponsible off-site agitation and cooperate with the National Assembly schedule."

Regarding the People Power Party's opposition to the push for prosecution reform, the DPK argued, "The People Power Party, which is holding back righteous judicial reform, will face the judgment of history."
