Cheong Wa Dae announced that, following the "San Francisco AI Summit" attended by President Lee Jae-myung and companies in the South Korea-U.S. AI (Artificial Intelligence) sectors, domestic companies and global big tech firms have agreed to pursue a total of $950 billion (approximately 1,375 trillion won) in semiconductor cooperation.

Kim Yong-bum, Chief Policy Officer of Cheong Wa Dae, introduced these achievements during a briefing at the press center set up in San Francisco.

First, Samsung Electronics and Broadcom signed a memorandum of understanding for foundry cooperation regarding the supply of $200 billion worth of advanced memory semiconductors and AI chip production over the next five years.

Additionally, SK agreed to pursue long-term supply cooperation for advanced memory semiconductors worth $750 billion over the next five years with global big tech companies such as Nvidia.

Beyond the semiconductor sector, achievements in AI data center cooperation were also shared.

Domestic companies and global big tech firms decided to pursue large-scale AI data center investment cooperation amounting to approximately 5GW and about 2 million GPUs (Graphics Processing Units).

SK Telecom agreed with Nvidia to receive Nvidia's support for the construction and expansion of an AI data center of up to 2GW, along with priority allocation of the latest GPU Vera Rubin system, and decided to pursue investment and cooperation with Anthropic for a domestic GW-scale AI data center project.

Naver signed a strategic investment agreement with Nvidia and decided to build a large-scale global AI factory worth a total of $10 billion through an infrastructure supply contract with global investment firm Brookfield.

Regarding physical AI, the final area of the "three mega-projects," Hyundai Motor Group and Nvidia agreed to jointly build the "Robot Reference Platform," a standardized foundation to develop and verify AI robots, supporting various robot developments by universities and startups. They also announced a self-driving car foundry plan with Waymo.

Samsung SDS and Anthropic signed a strategic partnership agreement to jointly discover new AI markets and train AI engineers together.
