A motorcyclist has died after being struck by a cargo truck while changing lanes.

According to the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Metropolitan City Fire Headquarters, a 1-ton cargo truck driven by a person in their 60s, identified as A, collided with a motorcycle driven by a person in their 40s, identified as B, on a road in Samhyang-eup, Muan-gun, Jeonnam-Gwangju, at around 4:57 PM yesterday (July 24).

B was transported to a hospital following the crash but ultimately succumbed to injuries.

Police believe the accident occurred while A was changing lanes from the second lane to the first lane. Authorities have booked A on charges of causing death under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents and are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
