Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced yesterday (July 24) that it has requested an arrest warrant for a male teenager on charges of attempted murder for allegedly attacking a female high school student with a weapon in a residential area of Hwagok-dong, Seoul.

The suspect, identified as Person A, is accused of wielding a weapon against the female high school student in a multi-family housing area in Hwagok-dong at around 1:26 p.m. on July 23.

The victim, who sustained injuries to her abdomen, was transported to a hospital while conscious and received treatment.

It was reported that Person A and the victim were acquaintances.

Police, who apprehended Person A at the scene as the suspect was committing the crime, plan to investigate the specific details of the incident.
