Minister of Justice Jung Sung-ho stated regarding the controversy surrounding his future that "my intention to resign was conveyed through aides a long time ago."

Minister Jung explained to SBS today (the 25th) that "I did not speak directly to President Lee Jae-myung."

Previously, Minister Jung repeatedly stated that the Criminal Procedure Act amendment pursued by the Democratic Party of Korea should be decided after careful discussion.

In particular, expressing public concern over the recently controversial full abolition of prosecutors' supplementary investigation powers, he noted that side effects could arise, such as making it difficult for the socially vulnerable or crime victims to receive relief.
