Special caution is required against the intense heat today (the 25th), which marks Jungbok, one of the three hottest days of the year. Heatwave advisories and warnings have been issued nationwide, with severe heatwave warnings in effect for some regions. Let us connect to the weather center for the details.

You will need to take special precautions against the intense heat today on Jungbok, traditionally known as the hottest period of the summer.

While heatwave advisories are in place for most regions, the highest-tier severe heatwave warnings were just expanded and issued for areas including Daegu and Gwangyang in South Jeolla Province.

Regions under the severe heatwave warning will experience extreme heat with perceived temperatures soaring to 38–39°C (100–102°F) or higher.

Please halt outdoor activities and take extra care to protect your health.

Meanwhile, the final stretches of monsoon rain will continue in the greater Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province.

Rainfall between 5 and up to 60 mm is expected.

Showers ranging from 5 up to 40 mm are also forecasted for regions south of Chungcheong until tonight.

Looking at daytime temperatures, Chuncheon and Gangneung will reach 33°C (91°F), while Gwangju will climb to 35°C (95°F).

Apparent temperatures could be about 1 to 2 degrees higher.
