Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang met with visiting President Lee Jae-myung and announced, "Nvidia and SK Group will announce a business partnership between the two companies today (the 24th, local time)," adding, "The scale amounts to USD 500 billion (approximately 730 trillion won)."
Huang made the remarks while introducing plans for cooperation with South Korean companies during his meeting with President Lee.
He continued, "SK hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Nvidia will proceed with partnerships regarding chip design and memory design."
In addition, he stated, "We will also make a large-scale investment in Naver. As Naver is a leading cloud company in South Korea, we plan to support its expansion not only in South Korea but globally through this partnership."
In particular, he said, "Through a partnership with Hyundai Motor Group, we will jointly develop autonomous Genesis vehicles."
Regarding the cooperation with Hyundai Motor, President Lee also responded favorably, mentioning that Hyundai Motor Group plans to invest in the robotics business in the Saemangeum area of Jeollabuk-do, saying, "Young South Koreans and residents of the Jeollabuk-do region have tremendous expectations."
Huang further explained, "(Nvidia) is jointly developing power generation systems that can be used in factories and homes with LG."
He then introduced research cooperation in South Korea through the AI Frontier Lab and plans for Nvidia researchers to relocate to South Korea.
At the same time, he emphasized, "We plan to cooperate with KAIST to build 'Korea AI,'" adding, "We also have plans to develop a 'South Korean LLM (Large Language Model)' in South Korea for South Korea," and "We are establishing various partnerships that develop everything from AI chips to physical AI and infrastructure."
