President Lee Jae-myung, who has embarked on a tour of the United States and Central and South America, has arrived in San Francisco, his first destination. Today (July 25), President Lee is scheduled to meet sequentially with big tech AI leaders, including NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, and announce the 'AI Declaration,' which contains South Korea's vision for the AI industry.

Upon arriving in San Francisco, USA, President Lee Jae-myung and the First Lady are greeted by officials from San Francisco City Hall and South Korean Ambassador to the US Kang Kyung-wha.
San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie presented a home run ball hit by Lee Jung-hoo, who plays for the San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball, as a gift, and President Lee responded with a smile.
This marks President Lee's third visit to the US, following his attendance at the South Korea-US summit last August and the UN General Assembly in September. This visit focuses on meeting American companies in Silicon Valley, the mecca of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced IT industries.
President Lee met with Dario Amodei, CEO of AI company Anthropic, which developed Claude, and asked for cooperation in the AI industry sector.

President Lee is also set to reunite with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whom he met at the APEC summit in Gyeongju last year, and subsequently attend the 'San Francisco AI Summit' to announce the 'San Francisco AI Declaration,' containing South Korea's commitment and vision for taking a leap forward in the AI industry.
The event will be attended by big tech AI CEOs from the US, including Jensen Huang, as well as Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung, and Naver Global Investment Officer (GIO) Lee Hae-jin.
Through this US visit, President Lee plans to focus on elevating cooperation between global US big tech AI companies and South Korean companies to the next level.
