As the monsoon rains take a temporary break, sweltering heat is taking hold.

Heat wave advisories have been further expanded to cover the greater Seoul area and parts of Gangwon Province.

Today (July 24), many areas across the country will see apparent temperatures rise to 33°C (91°F) or higher.

Many of you are likely wondering if the monsoon season has come to an end.

In the Jeju region, the end of the monsoon was declared last Sunday.

In the central and southern regions, rain will continue to fall and stop alternately until late this week.

It is expected that the monsoon season will also wrap up in the central and southern regions by next week.

Rain is forecast for the greater Seoul area and Gangwon Province today.

However, it will more often be in a lull.

Please keep in mind that due to atmospheric instability, turbulent shower clouds could develop in various places south of Chungcheong Province.
