The Daegu District Court's 13th Criminal Division (Presiding Judge Chae Hee-in) sentenced Defendant, a 19-year-old indicted on charges including violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, to a maximum of 3 years and 6 months and a minimum of 2 years and 6 months in prison on July 23.

The court also ordered Defendant to complete a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program and placed a three-year employment restriction on institutions related to children, adolescents, and people with disabilities.

Defendant was put on trial for charges including forcing a male classmate—who was in the same grade but one year younger—to drink milk mixed with saliva or urine in the school dormitory between June and October of last year while attending the second year of high school, and forcing him to expose specific body parts in the hallway while filming it with a smartphone.

The court stated, "Although the defendant had previously dropped out and re-enrolled due to school violence before this incident, he did not exercise self-restraint and committed a series of crimes once again against the victim, who was one year younger than him." It added, "The suffering experienced by the victim is presumed to have been immense, and the victim is petitioning for strict punishment against the defendant."

The court further noted, "Even considering that the defendant is a juvenile, a prison sentence is inevitable."
