World No. 7 women's golfer Charley Hull (England) experienced a nightmarish quadruple bogey after missing out on a clear birdie opportunity at the LPGA Tour's Scottish Open (total purse of $2 million).

On the 23rd (local time) during the first round of the tournament held at Dundonald Links (par 72) in North Ayrshire, Scotland, Hull landed her third shot 6 meters away from the hole on the par-5 5th hole, setting herself up for a birdie putt.

However, a bumpy green made for a rocky road before Hull could finally hole out.

Hull's birdie putt swung sharply to the right, rolled past the hole, and ended up in the rough off the green.

Pulling out her wedge, Hull attempted a chip shot, but it failed to clear the ridge and rolled right back down to her feet. On her next chip shot, she hit the ground behind the ball.

Repeating the same mistake on her seventh shot, Hull finally managed to get the ball back onto the green with her eighth shot, and only after sinking a 3.7-meter putt was she able to hole out.

After writing down a 9 on a par-5 hole, Hull finished the first round at 6-over par 78, tied for 89th place and putting her in a position where she has to worry about making the cut.
