As heatwaves continue to rage mainly in the southern regions, heatwave advisories were expanded to the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, yesterday (the 23rd).

Sweltering heat with a perceived temperature of around 33°C (91°F) will continue for the time being, and temperatures in the Yeongnam region will rise to around 35°C (95°F).

Since tropical nights will also persist in most areas during the night, you will need to prepare well for the heat.

Meanwhile, monsoon rain is expected in the central regions today as well.

Up to 60 mm, with locally heavy amounts exceeding 80 mm, is expected in Incheon, northern Gyeonggi Province, and northern Gangwon Province, while 5 to 40 mm of rain is forecast for Seoul and other parts of the central region.

Brief showers are expected in areas south of Chungcheong and on Jeju Island during the afternoon.

The monsoon season in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province is expected to conclude with the last bout of monsoon rain coming next Monday.

However, intense heat will follow, and since the end of the monsoon season does not mean the end of the possibility of torrential downpours, you must continue to prepare thoroughly for heavy rain for the rest of the summer.
