Police Seek Arrest Warrants for Two Protesters Who Assaulted Reporter at Vote-Counting Station

Police have moved to secure the custody of protesters who assaulted a reporter covering the vote-counting process for the June 3 local elections at the Jamsil vote-counting station.

The Seoul Songpa Police Station announced today (July 23) that it has requested arrest warrants for a woman in her 30s, identified as A, and a man in her 20s, identified as B, on charges of injury by assault and special confinement.

A and the others are accused of assaulting a reporter who was leaving the vote-counting station in front of the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium on June 5.

Police stated, "We plan to strictly investigate illegal activities at the vote-counting site in accordance with laws and principles."
