▲ Episode 1: Rage to Find His Missing Daughter... "Where Is Our Min-ji?"

While searching for clues to find his missing daughter Min-ji, Mr. Kim encounters Joo Hae-ri (played by Yoo Ji-an) and Sung Min-ho (played by Hwang Seong-bin). ▲ Episode 2: A Phone Call from His Kidnapped Daughter... "Hello? Is That Min-ji?"

Never giving up hope for his daughter, Mr. Kim spotted a call from her coming in at the police station, instantly subdued a detective, and snatched the phone. With just a trembling single line uttered as "Hello? Is that Min-ji?" and his shaking eyes, So Ji-sub fully conveyed his desperation, driving tension to its absolute peak.

▲ Episode 6: The Overwhelming Emotion of Finding His Daughter Amid Urgency... "Dad Is Here. Let's Go Home Now"

After a long pursuit, Mr. Kim finally came face-to-face with his daughter, emerging from the darkness by subduing the Vice Minister of National Security to instantly take control of the hair-trigger situation. He then looked at Min-ji and delivered a brief remark, "Dad is here. Let's go home now." Rather than showing explosive emotion, So Ji-sub reassured his daughter in a calm, low voice, leaving a profound and heartbreaking impact.

▲ Episode 7: Awakening in North Korea... Overwhelming Confusion and Anxiety

After safely sending his daughter back, Mr. Kim was arrested as promised. When he opened his eyes again after being injected with an anesthetic, he found himself in a North Korean interrogation room. So Ji-sub portrayed this unexpected twist entirely through his gaze—capturing confusion, wariness, and slowly creeping anxiety without a single line of dialogue, showcasing the pinnacle of restrained acting.

▲ Episode 8: The Final Mission Accepted to Protect His Daughter, and Another Crisis

Having accepted a final mission to protect Min-ji, Mr. Kim set out on the operation with a glimmer of hope, only to be pushed to the cliff's edge once again as the guns of Special Task Force agents turned toward him due to Joo Kang-chan's (played by Joo Sang-wook) scheme. The moment where hope turned into despair alongside the words, "Your mission has failed," was captured purely through a single facial expression, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating the next episode.

In this way, So Ji-sub maximized the show's immersion by exploding the emotions he meticulously built up throughout the running time into the final one-minute ending. Freely shifting between desperate paternal love, refreshing action, and blindsiding twists, he proved why he is a trusted actor and an "ending master."

With only 2 episodes left until its conclusion, 'Mr. Kim' will air its 9th episode at 9:50 PM on Friday, July 24, followed by the final episode at 9:45 PM on July 25.
