Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on the 23rd local time that it carried out another airstrike on a US military base in Jordanian territory as retaliation against the US military for attacking its country.

In particular, the Revolutionary Guard claimed that it heavily destroyed major military facilities, including the US military's core interception systems such as the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) and Patriot air defense networks.

On the 13th day of the armed conflict with the US, the Revolutionary Guard stated in a release that it targeted the US military base in Jordan, announcing that the attack destroyed one US THAAD radar, one Patriot system, and one C-RAM radar.

It explained that the attack caused a fire in a large fuel tank inside the US base, completely burning down a large-scale helicopter equipment warehouse and a helicopter maintenance hangar, thereby inflicting concentrated damage on US military aviation support facilities.

It emphasized that this operation was carried out as retaliation for the massive civilian casualties caused by the US military's attack in the Minab region of Iran.

The Revolutionary Guard emphasized, "168 young students lost their lives under the rubble collapsed by the US military's attack on the first day of the war," adding, "As part of these horrific crimes were perpetrated through the US military base in Jordan, targeting the origin of the place that murdered the children is Iran's legitimate and religious right."

Addressing the Jordanian citizens, it sought to appease them, stating, "We fully respect the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Jordanian government," and "Since the targeted US military base is a place governed by US law, it does not infringe upon Jordan's sovereignty."

Earlier, the US Central Command announced via social media late the previous night that it had initiated additional airstrikes against Iranian military targets, stating, "The mission will continue to further weaken Iran's capability to threaten civilian sailors and merchant vessels passing through regional waterways."
