Actor Nam Joo-hyuk will return to the small screen through a crime thriller revolving around a mysterious app that grants wishes.

On July 23, Disney+ officially confirmed the production of its original series "Code," directed by Yoo Su-min and featuring a highly anticipated cast including actors Nam Joo-hyuk, Lee I-dam, Kim Eui-sung, and Park Hoon.

"Code" is a mysterious crime thriller that unfolds when a mercenary lawyer navigating between illegality and expediency is invited to "Code," an app that grants wishes. Director Yoo Su-min of the globally acclaimed "Weak Hero Class 1 & 2" will take the helm, promising a fast-paced depiction of groundbreaking settings and unpredictable developments.

In the series, Nam Joo-hyuk takes on an acting transformation as Yoon Tae-ju, a mercenary lawyer who dreams of becoming a partner at a top law firm. Accidentally receiving an invitation to the "Code" app and plunging into a whirlpool of desire, he is expected to showcase another multi-dimensional side distinct from his previous works.

Meanwhile, Lee I-dam takes on the role of Park Ji-dam, a prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office who tracks down Yoon Tae-ju to uncover the truth behind the case, displaying unique chemistry amid tense psychological warfare with Nam Joo-hyuk. Kim Eui-sung adds weight to the story as Cho Cheol-ho, a North Korean defector hacker who unexpectedly forms an alliance with Yoon Tae-ju, while Park Hoon joins as Lim Chang-jae, a violent crimes detective and Yoon Tae-ju's helper, creating solid synergy.

Disney+ original series "Code," which will sharply portray the naked truth of human desire through the premise that one must pay a price to fulfill wishes, is scheduled to be released next year.
