At around 8:29 a.m. today (July 23), a fire presumed to have been caused by an explosion broke out inside the management office of an apartment complex in Sadong, Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province.
Authorities have confirmed that a total of eight people have been injured in the accident so far.
Police stated that there are currently no reported fatalities.
Police and the city of Gyeongsan estimate that the explosion occurred during a gathering of several apartment management office personnel.
An eyewitness said, "It looked like an explosion occurred because someone who appeared to be a non-resident entered the management office, sprayed a flammable substance, and set it on fire."
It was reported that there had been conflicts between the apartment management office and some residents at the apartment complex where the accident occurred.
Once firefighting operations are completed, police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident by questioning individuals who were at the scene at the time.
