U.S. President Donald Trump warned on the 22nd (local time) that if Iran attacks vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, the United States will retaliate by bombing Iranian bridges and power plants.

Writing on his social media platform Truth Social that day, President Trump stated, "From this point on, every time the Islamic Republic of Iran attacks a ship in the Strait of Hormuz with missiles, rockets, drones, or any other device or weapon, we will bomb and destroy one (Iranian) bridge or power plant."

President Trump added that the bridges and power plants targeted for bombing "include those located in or near the capital, Tehran."

On the 14th, President Trump had previously warned that if Iran failed to reach an agreement regarding an end to the conflict by this week, "We will bring down all their power plants. We will bring down all their bridges."

The U.S. military continued airstrikes centered on Iranian military facilities for 11 consecutive days up until yesterday, and is reportedly known to have also hit infrastructure facilities such as bridges, roads, and railways.
