A male worker in his 20s, identified by his surname A, died after getting caught in machinery at an auto parts manufacturing plant in Poseung-eup, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, at around 12:50 PM today (July 22).

The accident occurred while A, an employee of another machinery maintenance company deployed to the factory, was inspecting a parts-machining facility, which suddenly began operating.

At the time, a cylindrical tank installed in the equipment moved from side to side, causing A's upper body to become trapped between the tank and a wall. He was transported to a nearby hospital in cardiac arrest but ultimately passed away.

Police are currently investigating the precise circumstances of the accident and whether safety guidelines were followed by questioning officials at the scene.
