Police and fire authorities are searching for a woman in her 70s who went missing after leaving her home at dawn in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, continuing their search along the nearby Wangsuk Stream for a week.

According to police and fire authorities today (July 22), 72-year-old woman A has not returned home since leaving her residence in Dasan-dong, Namyangju, at 2:30 a.m. on July 15.

Her family reported her missing at 9:00 a.m. on the same day after she failed to return home.

After tracking her movements using closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and other evidence, police determined that her trail went cold near Topyeong Bridge on the Wangsuk Stream, close to her home.

Authorities are conducting the search with the possibility that she may have been swept away by swift currents, noting that the Wangsuk Stream's currents were strong at the time due to rain.

Despite mobilizing boats, drones, and rescue dogs to search the sections between Topyeong Bridge and Suseok Bridge, as well as Gangdong Bridge and Amsa Bridge, for seven days since the missing person report was filed, she has not been found yet.
