A Tesla Cybertruck, heavily promoted for its robust durability, was captured split in two at the scene of a multi-vehicle collision in the United States.

At around 1:30 p.m. local time on the 18th of last month, a chain-reaction crash involving at least 10 vehicles occurred at the intersection of Columbia Pike and Fairland Road in Silver Spring, Maryland, U.S.

However, the sight of one Cybertruck severely damaged in the crash has sparked controversy.

Tesla has particularly emphasized the Cybertruck's durability, boasting that it can even block bullets.

Tesla has promoted the vehicle's high safety standards, pointing out that the Cybertruck features a stainless steel exoskeleton body.

Yet, photos from the accident scene show that the passenger compartment and the rear cargo bed of the Cybertruck completely separated, leaving orange high-voltage wiring and internal cables fully exposed between the two sections.

The Cybertruck has previously faced concerns that its overly rigid body might prevent the crumple zone design from properly absorbing impact during a collision.

Consequently, discussions regarding the Cybertruck's body joint structure and crash safety are ongoing online.

Local police estimate that the accident began when a moving truck lost control. It was reported that a total of 10 people, including three children, were injured in the crash and transported to the hospital.
