Heavy rains that poured down in the southern Gyeonggi and Chungnam regions in the early hours of today (July 22) triggered consecutive damages, including flooded roads and fallen trees.

According to the Chungnam Fire Headquarters, 42 reports of rain-related damage were logged, including five requests for rescue.

Intense rainfall was concentrated in short periods, with Asan, Chungnam recording 62 mm per hour and Anseong, Gyeonggi recording 56.0 mm per hour early this morning.

The cities of Anseong and Pyeongtaek in Gyeonggi Province issued landslide advisories starting at 6:00 a.m., urging residents to refrain from approaching hazardous areas near forests.
