Samsung Electronics will unveil its new products, including the next-generation foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Galaxy Z Flip 8, in London, UK, at night on the 22nd local time.

This year, the foldable lineup is expanded to three models for the first time.

In addition, the company is expected to expand its AI and extended reality (XR) device ecosystem by introducing the Fold 8 series featuring a new aspect ratio and "Flex Titanium" technology, as well as unveiling its first smart glasses.

Samsung Electronics will host its new product launch event, Galaxy Unpacked 2026, at 2 PM on the 22nd (10 PM Korean time).

Products expected to be unveiled include the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, and the smart glasses "Intelligent Eyewear."

In particular, with the addition of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra for the first time this year, the foldable smartphone lineup is expanding from two to three models.

The Fold 8 is characterized by its new screen size and aspect ratio.

It is expected to feature a 5.5-inch cover display with a 10:16 aspect ratio when folded, and a 7.6-inch main display with a 4:3 aspect ratio when unfolded, offering a screen configuration that considers both content consumption and productivity.

Industry insiders expect it to have the lightest weight and most generous battery capacity among all Fold series to date.

Inheriting the conventional aspect ratio, the Fold 8 Ultra is expected to feature an 8-inch main display to enhance multitasking performance.

Its weight and thickness are also projected to be the thinnest and lightest ever in the Fold series.

Another differentiating factor is the inclusion of a 200-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a first for the Fold series.

The new products will debut with One UI 9, the latest operating system (OS).

It is also reported that "Flex Titanium" display technology will be applied for the first time, using a titanium alloy material to reduce the chronic screen crease, slim down the product thickness, and enhance durability and power efficiency.

Samsung Electronics also plans to showcase its first smart glasses, "Intelligent Eyewear," on this day.

Developed in collaboration with Google based on the Android XR platform, the product was first revealed at Google's developer conference last May.

It is known to have focused on achieving a natural design for everyday wear through collaborations with brands like Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

As Meta currently holds about 80% of the global smart glasses market, attention is focused on whether the collaboration between Samsung Electronics and Google can bring changes to the market competition landscape.

The Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which will be unveiled alongside, are expected to strengthen health management and exercise analysis features, while also expanding personalized health coaching functions utilizing Galaxy AI.
