This hot topic is a heartwarming story of saving a life.

An anonymous good Samaritan who rescued a middle school student swept away by waves off the coast of Goseong, Gangwon Province, has been identified.

He turned out to be an active-duty Army non-commissioned officer.

A post was recently shared online stating, "I am looking for the benefactor who saved my son at Geojin Beach in Goseong, Gangwon Province on the 19th."

The author described the situation, saying, "My son was playing in the water when he was caught in a current and drifted away from the shore. While I was stomping my feet in panic after calling 119, a citizen jumped into the sea with just a swimming tube, rescued the child, and vanished like the wind."

As the story spread online and messages of support poured in, the Sokcho Coast Guard confirmed that the good Samaritan is Staff Sergeant Go Young-woo of the Army's 22nd Infantry Division.

The Sokcho Coast Guard plans to award a commendation to Staff Sergeant Go for saving a life with his quick judgment and courageous action.
