The Lotte Giants have reached the 40-win mark this season, securing their second consecutive victory in professional baseball.

Lotte claimed a 6-2 comeback win against the SSG Landers in a home game of the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League held at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan today (July 21).

With a record of 40 wins, 2 draws, and 47 losses, 8th-place Lotte has extended its lead over 9th-place SSG to 8.5 games.

Lotte, which had been held scoreless through five innings by the seasoned pitching of SSG starter Shota Takeda, turned the game around with a burst of offense after two outs in the 6th inning while trailing 0-1.

With two outs and no runners on base, Han Tae-yang opened the rally with a double to left field. Ko Seung-min followed with an RBI single to right to tie the game, and Victor Reyes kept the momentum going with a single to center, putting runners on first and third.

Cleanup hitter Han Dong-hee then smashed a go-ahead RBI double to left-center, and Na Seung-yeop added a two-run single to center, marking five consecutive hits that brought in four runs for Lotte.

In the 8th inning, Ko Seung-min and Reyes hit back-to-back RBI singles to seal the victory against SSG.

Lotte starter Jeremy Beasley performed his role well, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out seven over six innings. Lotte then deployed its high-leverage bullpen from the 7th inning to shut down the SSG lineup.

For SSG, injury replacement foreign hitter Bligh Madris made his debut, finishing with one hit in four at-bats.

Madris recorded his first KBO League hit with a single to right field in the 6th inning while the game was tied 0-0, and later scored on an RBI single by Choi Ji-hoon.

However, SSG could not contain Lotte's offensive surge and suffered a comeback loss, marking their fourth consecutive defeat.

SSG's Lim Geun-woo hit his first career home run off Kim Won-joong in the 9th inning.
