The Ministry of Education announced that it will notify universities to revoke the degrees of foreign students who were admitted to domestic universities using scores obtained through cheating on the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).
The ministry added that it would also take measures to recover any scholarships awarded to these students.
Previously, the police booked over 10 individuals, including Chinese nationals, on charges of taking tests by proxy using forged identification or providing answers to examinees using high-tech equipment such as small earphones.
