SBS 8 News, which became the first terrestrial main news program in Korea to introduce XR (Extended Reality) in March 2026, continues to evolve.

Over the past months, SBS has showcased XR presentations that combine real-world spaces with virtual graphics across a wide range of issues—from science, weather, international affairs, and sports to political news, investigative reporting, and election coverage, which can sometimes feel rigid. This has allowed us to deliver complex information more easily and intuitively.

This summer, SBS 8 News XR is evolving even further. We have prepared new XR content to be utilized in reports on natural disasters, such as torrential rain and typhoons. Through three-dimensional graphics and simulations, we plan to deliver disaster situations more vividly and understandably, providing essential information to viewers more effectively.

SBS 8 News will continue to advance its XR technology to expand the 'frame' of news, providing viewers with a more intuitive and immersive news experience.
