The Korea National Diplomatic Academy's education system has been hacked, resulting in a large-scale leak of personal information belonging to current and former diplomats, according to an investigation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that an unidentified hacker infiltrated the server of the academy's online education system between April and May of last year. The hacker reportedly accessed and extracted personal information, including the names and job titles of current and former diplomats and resident officers, until February of this year.

A Ministry of Foreign Affairs official said, "While there is a possibility that duplicate entries are included, approximately 10,000 records related to education program participants were stored."

Regarding the identity of the hackers, the official explained, "We are investigating with all possibilities open, including the involvement of organized hacking groups."
